Techstructive Weekly #108
Week #108
Well, that was fun while it lasted, a 107 week streak broken. I was hospitalized. Period. First time in life. It was a weird feeling for sure, but coming back next week with this edition is even better. I didn’t read or watched anything during that week, was down with fever and chills right from the evening of Sunday. There was nothing to reflect on such a gloomy week of tech, but a lot to learn from life.
This week is still a bit rusty and melancholy but putting the word after the other to get back into life.
Quote of the week
“Sometimes rest is not laziness; it’s the medicine your body asks for before sickness forces you to listen”
Yeah! This is the bitter pill I am taking. I have not rested my mind for more than two years. It becomes chaotic and unproductive all the time, if regular maintenance is not provided. But life for developers is so fast paced, that I barely have gotten the time to ease my life out. Its hard to speak this, but I will leave it here.

Quieter computing, this is a luxury now. Nobody can afford that, what a weird place we live in. People can’t even dream and live their life. Its quite difficult to be just quite and live life.
Yes, yes. Its very easy to judge the output, every article, every other thought feels like ai-generated. Its exhaustive to just be on social media, that’s why I just deleted all of those, I dont have any apps like X or bluesky installed, if I really want to check something, I have to open chrome and type it in. Some friction is necessary to reduce overstimulating the brain.

Coding is solved
Hmm, yeah this is a good one. What you mean by building good software is solved. Good and solved are some relative terms. Quite relative. It can mean the end of world for someone, for some manager it might mean a means to an end. Extreme ends we live in.
Yes, writing code is solved. But planning and evaluating it is still a bottleneck of humans. The matter of taste and the why question is still intrinsic to humans, that no matter how intelligent AIs get, it cannot answer it for you.
Brett Codes: I’m done coding with AI
Phew! Thanks for recording this. Being able to enjoy the process is vital too. If people just rush for productivity then it wont be sustainable in the long run. People should also value what they love and keep them sane. Just focusing on churning out results is not going to help anyone of us.
Developer Voices: DuckDB Joins AWS with Hannes
What a banger of a man. DuckDB is such a simple software with right mentality to grow. I am happy that its receiving the love from community and now its acquired by AWS.
Learnt
People can care about how they feel and its fine.
By watching the videos and observing the environment in hospital, it occurred to me that I need to take care of myself. There is no one else to do that except my mother. It hurts to be able to hear that you know? Its not a easy feeling to live with and to help yourself.
Tech News
That’s it from a strange rest week, lazy week. It was not easy to live through the week.
It wasn’t a productive week. It wasn’t an exciting week. It wasn’t even an easy week. But it was a week I had to live through, and somehow, here I am on a Friday evening, putting another edition together.
Maybe that’s enough for now.
I don’t know how to get rid of the feeling that life is eating me alive. Maybe I don’t need to figure that out this week either. Maybe I just need to rest, recover, and slowly find my way back to the things that make me excited about life and tech.
Another week dusted off.
Happy Coding:)
